I grew up in a small business, in fact I was nearly born behind the counter of my parent’s store. For the first 20 years of my life, much of our family life revolved around the store. I remember as a kid, helping count inventory, stocking shelves and folding invoices. It was a family affair and I’m forever grateful a small business kept a roof over my head, food in my belly and clothes on my back. I learned early on that running the kind of small business that makes up the backbone of our economy takes hard work but can be very rewarding.

My path however did not lead me to the family business. From an early age I loved technology and had a great aptitude for it. I came through school in the early days of email and the world wide web and I loved it. This led me to pursue studies in Computer Science and a career of building and implementing internet technologies. What set me apart however, was that I’m also very people oriented and found that sitting in front of a screen all day didn’t fit my personality. What got me excited was not just building or implementing the technology but helping people find the right solution and seeing it make their lives better.

As the world got turned upside down with COVID, like many people I found myself needing to chart a new course into an uncertain future. After 20 years my skills and experience have far exceeded my formal credentials and so, when presented the opportunity to update my education and strike out on my own I jumped at it.

Now looking forward, I see many small, local businesses trying to navigate in an economy where their physical doors can be shut in a moment’s notice. Living in this reality means the digital doors have to open. As one who has been in the digital space pretty much from the beginning, I want to help businesses navigate these changes. Bringing my years of technical experience, a current certificate in internet marketing and my passion to see your business succeed, let me be your guide through the waters ahead.
